Cliff Richard first arrived on the music scene in 1958 with the group ‘The Shadows.’ Some of their most famous songs were ‘The Young Ones’ and ‘Living Doll.’ In the late ’60s though, Cliff went solo and entered the 1968 Eurovision Song Contest with the song ‘Congratulations.’ This song didn’t win the song contest but has become one of Cliff’s most famous songs.

With a back catalogue of hit singles in every decade, plus many awards for his amazing contribution to the music scene, Sir Cliff is a beloved national icon. However, he gained his Knighthood firstly for his charity work. His charity is called ‘The Sir Cliff Richard Charitable Trust’ and provides funding for charitable work in the following areas: medical research, children, the elderly, and the physically and/or mentally disabled.
