The Royal Horticultural Society is the UK’s leading gardening society and its purpose is to promote horticulture and gardening. It uses flower shows, such as Chelsea Flower Show and Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, to encourage its popularity. The RHS also has the function of supporting training for professional and amateur gardeners. There are over 400,000 members of the RHS and membership is continuing to grow.
